Emergency Energy Surcharge

Introduction temporary Emergency Energy Surcharge of 6.5% starting Monday, 16 March 2026

Due to the recent developments in the Middle East, we are currently confronted with an exceptional and rapid increase in fuel and energy prices. These developments have an immediate and significant impact on the operational costs within the logistics and inland shipping sector.

As a result of this situation, our barge service providers have reintroduced emergency energy surcharges, which are directly applied to the services we purchase from them. Unfortunately, these cost increases can no longer be absorbed within our existing rate structure.

In order to safeguard the continuity, reliability, and quality of our services, we are therefore forced to introduce an extra temporary Emergency Energy Surcharge of 6.5% on the basic transport rates of our truck and barge services.

This surcharge will apply to the services provided by Waalhaven Cool Barge and will be effective for transports with a starting date from Monday, 16 March 2026, until further notice.

We fully understand that this measure may have an impact on your cost structure and appreciate your understanding in these exceptional circumstances. Please be assured that we remain committed to providing you with reliable and efficient services.
